Roosevelt State Park
Polkville is located only 8 miles from the beautiful Roosevelt State Park, which is just off MS Highway 13. Mississippi's flagship state park offers 120 acre lake for fishing and boating, a large water slide, nature trails, camping and swimming, cabins and RV hookups, and a camp store as well as beautiful Alfreda Lodge. Also, the Livingston Performing Arts Center is located within the park. Many musical events, plays, beauty pageants, and other activities are held in this facility annually. Great family fun and entertainment are just moments away. For more information, call or visit 2149 Highway 13 South
Morton, MS 39117 (601) 732-6316 Location: I-20, exit 77.

Caney Creek Wildlife Management Area
Great hunting and fishing opportunities are available in this management area located in the beautiful Bienville National Forest which lies on the east side of the Polkville city limits. Close to 73,000 acres of prime hunting, camping, and fishing spots are at our back door. Beaver Lake is set to re-open in 2009 after recently being restocked with largemouth bass and bluegill.

The Music Barn
People come from many parts of the country to Jay and Claudia Arender's Music Barn to enjoy the varied and talented performances. The spring and fall are the best times to catch great entertainment ranging from Blue Grass, Country, and Gospel. The gathering of RVs is a tell tale sign that fun and fellowship are happening on the Music Barn grounds. For more information and schedule dates contact Jay Arender at 601-946-0280.

The Polkville Park
The Polkville Park, located off Highway 13 beside the Polkville Library and Fire Station, offers a great location for children to play, families to have a picnic, and people to exercise on our walking track. Our new playground equipment keeps children entertained for hours, and our pavilion provides shade and is great for family get-togethers.

The Polkville Civic Center
With recent renovations totaling over $400,000, few towns have a nicer community facility. Built in 1937, this historic structure once served as Polkville's school until it was closed around 1970. Now, with renovations that have made it better than the day it was built, it is used for community meetings, family reunions, birthday parties, our senior citizen nutrition program, musical events, plays, and various other events. To use the Civic Center for your next event, please contact City Clerk Jay Barnes for rental terms at 601-537-3115.

Piney Grove Church and Cemetery
Located deep in the Bienville National Forest is one of Smith County's oldest churches: Piney Grove. Built around the 1880's, it still stands today. This church is a very quiet and solemn place to visit and get a glimpse of the past. The cemetery contains many old family grave sites including several Civil War Veterans' graves and historical markers informing visitors about the area.
